Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated 22 October 2026This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled when you use the Voluble website, Android app, communication lessons, AI conversations and support services. It describes the information used to run your experience, the organisations involved, retention and your choices. “Personal information” includes information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you, including identifiable voice recordings and learning history.
Who is responsible
Voluble AI Inc, incorporated in Delaware, United States, operates Voluble and is responsible for the processing described in this Policy. Website: https://getvoluble.com. Android app: com.getvoluble.app.
Any separate entity responsible for a particular payment or other independent service is identified when you use that service. Our use of another organisation does not remove our responsibility for processing carried out on our behalf.
Privacy questions and requests: support@getvoluble.com.
Information we receive
We receive information you provide, information generated when you use the service and information sent by the sign-in or payment services you choose. We do not treat an account identifier, pseudonym or transcript as anonymous merely because it does not display your name.
- Account and verification
- Name, email, phone number, account ID and sign-in records. Create, authenticate, secure and recover an account.
- Learning profile
- Goals, language choice, onboarding answers and selected coach. Configure and personalise practice.
- Conversation content
- Submitted audio, transcripts, typed answers, AI replies and context. Recognise speech, generate a response and provide feedback.
- Learning records
- Lesson activity, assessments, corrections and progress. Show previous practice and guide subsequent work.
- Purchase records
- Plan, transaction ID, amount, currency, payment and refund status. Activate access, reconcile billing and resolve disputes.
- Technical information
- Device and app details, IP address, installation identifiers and diagnostics. Deliver, secure and troubleshoot the service.
- Support and preferences
- Requests, attachments, consent records and communication choices. Resolve issues and honour your choices.
Google Sign-In, where used, provides the profile information you authorise it to share, such as your name, email or profile image. It does not give us your Google password. Payment providers collect the instrument information needed to process payment. We do not store your full payment card number or security code.
Avoid putting sensitive personal information, account credentials, trade secrets or unnecessary information about another person into practice. A volunteered detail may appear in your recording, transcript and model context; removing a name from the typed prompt does not necessarily remove it from audio.
Why we process information
We use account and technical information to operate the service, authenticate access, investigate suspicious activity and maintain reliability. We use the information you submit in a conversation, together with relevant lesson context and learning records, to generate a response, provide feedback and continue your practice.
We use purchase information for entitlements, receipts, refunds and financial obligations. We use support records to handle your request and track its resolution. We retain limited evidence where necessary to comply with law, prevent fraud, resolve an identified dispute or establish that a consent or deletion request was handled.
Optional marketing, optional analytics and any other optional use are explained separately where applicable. We use the legal ground and consent process required for the particular activity and country. A notice about processing needed to provide your chosen lesson is not permission to use the same data for any unrelated purpose.
Notice, consent and choice
Where consent is required, we identify the data, purpose and relevant recipients and ask for a clear affirmative choice before processing. A preselected box, silence or a bundled agreement to unrelated purposes is not treated as a substitute for consent where law requires an active choice.
You can decline optional processing without losing unrelated core functionality. If information is necessary to deliver a particular feature, we explain what will not work if you decline or withdraw it. For example, a spoken lesson requires speech input, while marketing permission is not needed to provide coaching.
You can withdraw consent through the relevant control or by emailing support@getvoluble.com. We stop the affected consent-based processing within the applicable period and instruct relevant processors, subject to a specific lawful retention requirement. Withdrawal does not invalidate processing that was lawful before it, but it is not a reason to continue the optional use indefinitely.
Microphone access and recording behaviour
Sia and Maya are virtual characters. Speaking features use microphone permission and may send speech to cloud providers for transcription, conversational processing, voice responses or the feedback described for that feature. We request microphone permission before a spoken session and do not record in the background.
During onboarding, audio is processed transiently for the relevant turn unless you choose to keep the recording. Where you choose to retain a recording, we store it for up to 90 days and delete it earlier on request, subject to specific lawful exceptions.
Stop a session using its controls and revoke microphone permission in your device or browser settings. Revoking permission stops future microphone access; it does not by itself erase recordings already stored. You can separately request deletion of those recordings.
We do not create a voiceprint for identity authentication, clone your voice or identify you as a speaker through biometric matching. We do not infer that an ordinary audio file is harmless merely because it is not used as a biometric identifier. A future identity or cloning feature would require a separate assessment, explanation and appropriate consent before it is introduced.
AI processing, personalisation and training
To produce a relevant response, a provider may receive your current message or audio, instructions for the lesson and the relevant portion of earlier conversation or learning context. Personalisation can involve retaining information such as goals or a summary of prior practice. The associated storage and deletion are covered by this Policy.
Voluble does not use your conversations, audio or transcripts to train its own AI models.
Any new optional use of identifiable practice for model training, marketing, public demonstrations or voice cloning requires a separate, specific explanation and lawful permission where required. Acceptance of the Terms is not a perpetual licence for those uses. We do not make an unqualified promise that a trained model can always “unlearn” information; identifiable lesson data should not be used for a new training purpose without a lawful and workable rights process.
Automated feedback and human access
Automated feedback and suggested practice support learning. They may be inaccurate and can be affected by recording conditions, language, accent and model changes. They are not employment, admission or credit decisions, or psychological diagnoses. Report an incorrect transcript or assessment through support or the in-app reporting control.
Private practice is not routinely reviewed by people. A limited number of authorised personnel may access necessary material for support you request, security, an abuse investigation or a legal requirement. Access is restricted by role and purpose. If an optional research or quality-review programme involves identifiable practice beyond these purposes, its notice and consent will explain that separately.
We do not send your private lessons or scores to an employer or institution merely because you mention it or it is used in a fictional scenario. Any organisational reporting service must have a separate clear notice explaining what the organisation receives and the relevant rights and choices.
Providers and other recipients
We use providers only for the purposes described and seek contractual safeguards appropriate to the data and task. A provider acting independently for its own legal duties or payment functions may also issue its own privacy notice. That notice does not replace our obligations for our own processing.
We may disclose necessary information to authorities under lawful process, professional advisers under confidentiality restrictions, or a successor in a lawful business transfer with appropriate protection and required notice or consent. We assess the scope of requests and do not treat every informal request as authority to disclose an account.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context targeted advertising.
Retention schedule
We keep information for the specified purpose and only as long as reasonably necessary or legally required. The periods below govern identifiable information; they also apply to derived records that remain linkable to you.
- Optional saved recordings
- Up to 90 days from recording, or earlier on request, subject to specific legal exceptions.
- Unsaved onboarding audio
- Transient processing for the turn; provider residual handling as specified in section 8.
- Conversations and personalisation
- While needed for the account or chosen feature; removed with the relevant content or account, subject to identified legal exceptions.
An identified legal hold applies only to relevant records and ends when the need and applicable obligation end. Retained exceptions are access-restricted and are not reused for ordinary coaching or marketing. On restoration of a backup, deletion instructions are reapplied before affected data returns to ordinary use. Provider exceptions and independent payment records are explained in section 8 and the Account Deletion Policy.
When genuinely anonymised aggregate information no longer identifies anyone, it may be used to understand service performance. Removing a name, hashing an identifier or creating an embedding does not by itself establish anonymity, particularly for voice or distinctive workplace stories.
Your requests and rights
Contact support@getvoluble.com to ask for access to or a summary of information, correct an inaccuracy, obtain an available copy, delete information, withdraw consent or raise a concern. We handle requests under applicable law and the commitments in this Policy, verify identity proportionately and explain any restriction or exception.
Additional statutory rights depend on the law applicable to you and its commencement. Where applicable, these may include an objection to or restriction of processing, portability, nomination or a complaint to the competent data-protection authority. We do not represent a future statutory mechanism as already operational or use a future commencement date to avoid our current contractual commitments.
To delete your account, visit https://getvoluble.com/delete-account or email support with “Delete my account”. Use a registered email where possible or identify your phone-based account for secure verification. We normally remove the account and linked active data within 30 days of receipt, subject to reasonable verification and specific lawful exceptions. Uninstalling is not deletion; deletion is not necessarily cancellation of independent recurring billing.
Security and incidents
We maintain reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information and processing, including protection of data in transit, access controls and security monitoring. We restrict authorised access and require appropriate protection from processors. No online system is completely secure, and we do not claim universal or permanent security certification.
If an incident occurs, we take steps to assess and contain it, preserve necessary evidence, reduce harm and notify affected people and relevant authorities when required. Notification periods depend on the applicable obligation and incident. Contact support promptly about suspected exposure or account misuse; do not publish another person’s private data as part of a report.
International processing
The operator is based in the United States and our services can involve processing in India, the United States and the verified provider locations stated above. A provider located abroad may be involved even when you use the app in India. We use safeguards required by applicable law and do not treat continued use as a blanket waiver of transfer protections.
If a specific regional notice or transfer mechanism is required for the service offered to you, it must accompany the relevant processing. This Policy does not assert compliance with every country’s laws merely because a website or app listing can be accessed there.
Children
Voluble’s consumer service is intended for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect children’s information through this service. If we learn of contrary collection, we investigate and take appropriate steps to restrict processing and delete information where required. Contact support if you believe a child has used an account.
Changes and complaints
We publish updates at https://getvoluble.com/privacy with the effective date. Material changes receive appropriate notice. A new use requiring consent starts only after the relevant choice has been obtained; continuing to use the app does not by itself permit an unrelated optional purpose.
Send a privacy concern to support@getvoluble.com or the named grievance contact in section 1. We acknowledge consumer complaints within 48 hours and redress them within one month, or sooner where required. You may use statutory complaints and other remedies available to you, including the Data Protection Board of India when the relevant provisions and process apply. Contacting us is not a waiver of those rights.
